Bruno Bich devoted most of his professional life to Société BIC, the family-owned company founded by his father, Marcel Bich, and built into one of France’s best-known global consumer goods groups. He rose through the organization and first helped develop BIC’s North American business before moving into the group’s top leadership role. He served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer from 1993 to 2006, and later as Chairman of the Board of Directors until 2018. That progression reflects a deep, operational understanding of the company’s business model, international footprint, and long-term strategic priorities. During his leadership, BIC continued to strengthen its global presence while preserving a clear brand identity built around simplicity, reliability, and affordability. Bruno Bich is widely associated with a style of family governance that was disciplined, long-term oriented, and closely aligned with the company’s industrial and commercial fundamentals. He oversaw the evolution of BIC from a business historically centered on writing instruments into a diversified global leader in stationery, lighters, and shavers. His stewardship also reflected a strong entrepreneurial and heritage-driven approach, balancing the legacy of Marcel Bich with the expectations of a listed company. Beyond BIC, he served on the boards of several international companies and was involved with institutions such as the American Hospital of Paris Foundation and the French Institute-Alliance Française. He was named Chevalier of the Legion of Honor in 2006. Bruno Bich died in 2021, leaving a legacy as one of the key figures in the modern history of Société BIC.
