Gonzalve Bich is a key figure in the governance of Société BIC and one of the most prominent leaders in the company’s modern history. A member of the third generation of the Bich family to lead the group, he was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Société BIC in May 2018 after serving as Chief Operating Officer. In December 2024, BIC announced that it had begun a succession process intended to end his tenure as CEO by September 30, 2025, while keeping him in role until then and then transitioning him to a Senior Advisor position. His career at BIC was built step by step across geographies and functions. He joined BIC Asia in 2003, where he spent four years developing the regional business. He then moved into people development, followed by a role as Group Shaver Marketing Director. From 2008 to 2012, he led BIC’s Northern Europe business. In 2012, he was named Deputy General Manager for Developing Markets, covering the Middle East, Africa, Oceania and Asia-Pacific, before being promoted in 2013 to lead the entire Developing Markets region. In 2016, he became responsible for BIC’s Consumer Business Categories and Latin America operations, was appointed Executive Vice President in June 2016, and then became COO effective January 1, 2017. As CEO, Gonzalve Bich oversaw a major strategic transformation. He introduced the Horizon strategic plan in November 2020, designed to accelerate growth, strengthen agility, expand innovation, and create value for stakeholders. Under his leadership, BIC simplified its global manufacturing footprint, sharpened portfolio management, and completed several important acquisitions, including Inkbox and Tangle Teezer, to diversify the business and add new growth platforms. BIC has credited his tenure with raising the annual innovation rate to 10% of net sales and growing revenue beyond 2 billion euros. His leadership also placed sustainability at the center of the company’s operating model. He advanced “Writing The Future, Together” as a global program with measurable commitments, including improving learning conditions for children and reducing or eliminating virgin plastics in products and packaging. Overall, his profile combines family legacy, international operating experience, commercial discipline, and strategic transformation, helping modernize BIC while preserving the company’s core values of simplicity, quality, and affordability.
