Director interest disclosure in Australia
The company files for the director
Australia splits the duty in two. Section 205G of the Corporations Act 2001 requires a director of a listed company to notify the exchange of a change in their interests within 14 days. ASX Listing Rule 3.19A puts a tighter duty on the company itself: it must lodge the notice within 5 business days, and rule 3.19B obliges it to make arrangements with each director to get the information in time.
The two obligations meet through an ASIC instrument (Corporations (Disclosure of Directors' Interests) Instrument 2016/881): a director need not file separately under section 205G if they reasonably believe the company has complied with rule 3.19A. Both obligations are written for directors.
Appendix 3X, 3Y and 3Z
Three forms follow a director's tenure. Appendix 3X states the holding on listing or appointment, Appendix 3Y each change, Appendix 3Z the holding on departure; each is due within 5 business days. For an on-market trade, the clock starts on the trade date, not on settlement.
A 3Y gives the holding before and after the change, the number acquired or disposed of, the value or consideration and the nature of the change (on-market trade, off-market trade, exercise of options, dividend reinvestment, buy-back). It also states whether the trade took place in a closed period under the company's trading policy and, if so, whether prior written clearance was given.
Substantial holders, a separate regime
Investors with a relevant interest in 5 percent or more of voting shares file a substantial holding notice under section 671B, and a new one for each movement of at least 1 percent. The notice goes to the company and the exchange within 2 business days, or by 9.30 am the next trading day during a takeover bid. From 4 December 2026, a single ASIC substantial holding notice replaces forms 603, 604 and 605, with the old forms accepted until 3 June 2027. These notices are not part of the Australian feed here.

The Australian feed is per-trade, built from Appendix 3Y notices, with Australian dollar amounts converted to euros. One 3Y can record an option vesting or a dividend reinvestment rather than a market trade: check the nature of change on the original notice, linked from each card. The method is set out on the methodology page.
