Gonzalve Bich served as Chief Executive Officer and board member of Société BIC from May 2018, after previously holding senior operational roles including Chief Operating Officer for the Group. As a third-generation member of the Bich family to lead the company, he helped steer one of France’s most iconic consumer-goods groups through a period of strategic modernization, operational simplification, and renewed focus on profitable growth. His career at BIC spans more than two decades, giving him deep experience across geographies, categories, and corporate functions. He joined BIC Asia in 2003, where he spent four years developing the regional business. He then moved into Group talent development, followed by a marketing role for the shaver category. From 2008 to 2012, he led BIC’s Northern Europe business. In 2012, he was appointed Deputy General Manager in charge of the Middle East, Africa, Oceania, and Asia-Pacific, before becoming General Manager for Developing Markets in 2013. In 2016, his remit expanded to consumer business categories and Latin America, and he later became Executive Vice-President and then COO, overseeing consumer products, human resources, and IT. As CEO, Gonzalve Bich focused on portfolio management, execution discipline, and innovation. He launched the Horizon strategic plan in 2020, positioning BIC for a new phase of ambition and modernization. He also advanced the company’s sustainability agenda through Writing the Future, Together, a program centered on responsible innovation, climate action, workplace safety, supplier engagement, and improving learning conditions for 250 million children. During his tenure, BIC strengthened its growth profile through acquisitions such as Cello Pens, Inkbox, and Tangle Teezer, signaling a broader strategic ambition beyond the company’s traditional stationery, lighter, and shaver categories. A Harvard University history graduate, he combined family stewardship with a global operating mindset and a strong emphasis on brand relevance, efficiency, and long-term value creation.
