About Patricia Barbizet
Patricia Barbizet is a highly respected French corporate executive known for her deep expertise in finance, corporate governance, and the leadership of listed and investment companies. A graduate of ESCP Europe, she began her career in 1976 in the treasury department of Renault Véhicules Industriels before becoming Chief Financial Officer of Renault Crédit International. This early experience gave her a strong foundation in financial management, industrial operations, and corporate control. In 1989, she joined the Pinault Group as Chief Financial Officer and later became Chief Executive Officer of Artémis, the Pinault family’s investment company, a position she held from 1992 to 2018. Over more than two decades, she played a central role in overseeing and structuring a diversified portfolio of strategic assets spanning investment, luxury, art, and services. Her long tenure at Artémis established her as one of the most experienced French executives in managing complex, high-profile holdings. From 2014 to 2016, she also served as CEO and Chairwoman of Christie’s International, one of the world’s leading auction houses, demonstrating her ability to lead international businesses with strong brand equity and global reach. Beyond operational leadership, Barbizet has built a particularly strong reputation in governance and institutional oversight. She chaired the investment committee of the French Strategic Investment Fund from 2008 to 2013 and has held several prestigious board and institutional roles. She is currently Chairwoman of Temaris & Associés and Chairwoman of the board of directors of the Cité de la Musique – Philharmonie de Paris. She also chairs Zoé SAS, Colombus, and HCGE. In April 2018, she was appointed Chairwoman of the supervisory board of Investissements d’Avenir. At Pernod Ricard, Patricia Barbizet plays an important role in supporting strong board governance. She joined the Board as an independent director in 2018 and was appointed Lead Independent Director and Referent Director in 2019. She also serves on the Compensation Committee, the Nominations and Governance Committee, and the CSR Committee. Her profile is valued for financial discipline, independence, long-term perspective, and a strong command of governance standards for listed companies.
