Marie-Christine Coisne-Roquette is a French business leader widely recognized for her expertise in corporate governance, family-owned enterprise strategy, and long-term ownership structuring. Born on 4 November 1956, she is a trained lawyer with a degree in English, a master’s degree in law, and a Specialized Law Certificate from the New York bar. She began her career in 1981 as an attorney in Paris and New York at Cabinet Sonier & Associés, building a legal foundation that later proved valuable in corporate leadership and board governance. In 1984, she joined the board of Colam Entreprendre, the family holding company, and moved into the business full time in 1988. From there, she took on a central role in strengthening the family’s control of the group and reorganizing its ownership and governance structures. Her career became closely linked with Sonepar, the global B2B leader in the distribution of electrical products. She became Chairwoman of the Sonepar Group in 2002 and later Chairwoman of Sonepar S.A.S. in 2016. In these roles, she helped consolidate the group’s shareholding base, support its growth strategy, and reinforce its international development while preserving its entrepreneurial and family-owned identity. Her influence also extends beyond Sonepar. She has been a Director of TotalEnergies SE since the Annual Shareholders’ Meeting of 13 May 2011 and serves on the Audit Committee, the Governance and Ethics Committee, and the Strategy & CSR Committee.
