Thomas Billette de Villemeur is one of the key figures behind Groupe CBV Ingénierie, the reference shareholder that plays a central role in the governance of Freelance.com. A graduate of ISG, he began his career in marketing at Robeco before joining the industrial group Cinetic, where he contributed to the consolidation of handling-equipment businesses serving the automotive and airport sectors, mainly in France and Germany. This early experience gave him a strong grounding in industrial development, external growth and cross-border execution. He later took over the Swedish industrial group Interspiro AB, a company specialized in respiratory equipment for firefighters and professional divers, which he restructured before selling it to the U.S.-based Ocenco Group. That episode reinforced his reputation as a leader capable of driving deep transformations, repositioning businesses and creating value in demanding international environments. He also became active in real estate development and rehabilitation in Europe and the United States, further broadening his operational and strategic expertise. In 2008, he took control of Groupe CBV Ingénierie and became Chairman of its Supervisory Board. Under his leadership, the group progressively redeployed its historical international technical assistance business toward a strategic focus on freelancing, intermediation and matching independent professionals with SMEs and large enterprises. This strategic shift supported the rise of Freelance.com, in which Groupe CBV Ingénierie remains the majority shareholder. His role has also involved steering major governance and shareholding decisions in a long-term value-creation framework. He therefore stands out as an investor-operator with experience spanning industry, services and the independent talent economy.
