About GEORGES SAMPEUR
Georges Sampeur is a well-known executive in hospitality, travel and leisure, with a career shaped by senior leadership roles in international settings. He is best known today as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Pierre et Vacances SA, where he also serves as an independent director. In this role, he helps define the strategic direction of the Pierre & Vacances-Center Parcs group and oversees implementation in a period marked by strategic transformation and stronger governance. His career began internationally, leading Avis in the United Kingdom. From 1999 to 2003, he served as CEO and Executive President Europe of Carlson Wagonlit Travel, where he built strong expertise in mobility, travel distribution and pan-European management. He then joined B&B Hôtels at the request of Duke Street Capital, at a time when the company operated around 70 hotels. Over nearly two decades, he supported the group’s exceptional expansion, multiplying its size by ten and leading five LBO transactions, ultimately ending with the company’s acquisition by Goldman Sachs. At B&B Hôtels, Georges Sampeur became known for a clear strategic vision centered on the “value for money” positioning, combining operational discipline, service quality and profitability. He also moved early on environmental issues, using sustainability as a lever for both brand differentiation and improved performance. His governance experience extends beyond Pierre & Vacances, with board-level roles at La Poste, Groupe Lucien Barrière and Midnight Trains, as well as a chairmanship of the supervisory board of Vacances Select. At Pierre & Vacances, his credibility comes from deep knowledge of the tourism and hospitality industries, a strong transformation mindset and proven private equity exposure. His profile as an experienced leader makes him a key figure in board governance, strategic oversight and value creation within the group.
