Anne-Marie Couderc is a French executive and board leader known for a career at the crossroads of law, public policy, and corporate governance. Trained as a lawyer, she first built her professional background in the media and publishing industries, holding senior positions within the Hachette Group. That experience gave her deep exposure to management, restructuring, and the oversight of large, operationally complex businesses. She later chaired Presstalis from 2010 to 2017, during a particularly challenging period for the French press distribution sector, which strengthened her reputation as a governance specialist and a leader in turnaround and stakeholder-heavy environments. Her public career also includes significant institutional service. Anne-Marie Couderc served as Minister of Employment, which broadened her understanding of social issues, labor relations, and public policy. She is also a member of France’s Economic, Social and Environmental Council (CESE) and of the High Committee on Corporate Governance (HCGE), two bodies that reflect her expertise in board standards, transparency, and governance best practices. At Ipsos, she was co-opted to the Board of Directors in June 2025, replacing Florence Parly, and has since become Lead Independent Director and Chair of the Appointments and Compensation Committee. Ipsos describes her as bringing strong governance expertise, independence of judgment, and broad leadership experience to the Board of the global market research group. Her role is especially relevant in overseeing board balance, executive remuneration, and strategic decisions at a listed company operating internationally.
