Philippe Vallée is a French business executive widely recognized for his expertise in digital technology, payments, cybersecurity, and international management. Born in 1964, he holds an engineering degree from the Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble (INPG) and a degree from ESSEC Business School, combining technical rigor with managerial training. He started his career at Matra before moving on to Gemplus and later Gemalto, where he joined in 2006 and built a long track record in senior leadership roles. From 2016 to March 2019, he served as Chief Executive Officer of Gemalto. Throughout his career, Philippe Vallée has worked at the intersection of digital trust, secure identity, and payment technologies. At Gemalto, he was involved in a period of significant strategic and industrial transformation, as the market shifted toward stronger digital security, broader connectivity, and more demanding identity verification needs. His experience in managing globally distributed businesses and technology-driven organizations helped establish his reputation as an executive with deep operational and strategic expertise. He later joined Thales, where he currently serves as Executive Vice President, Cybersecurity & Digital Identity. In this role, he oversees a strategically important division focused on protecting data, securing identities, and supporting digital sovereignty for governments, enterprises, and critical infrastructure operators. His responsibilities place him at the center of one of Thales’s most important growth areas, where cybersecurity and trusted identity solutions are becoming increasingly essential. In addition to his operational role at Thales, Philippe Vallée has also been a member of Edenred’s Board of Directors since May 11, 2021. This board position reflects his recognized standing in listed-company governance and his broader expertise in payments and transaction-related services.
