Pierre-Henri Flamand is a seasoned investment professional and, today, an independent member of the Supervisory Board of Tikehau Capital. His career is distinguished by deep expertise in public and private markets, hedge fund management and the leadership of international investment platforms. A graduate of École Polytechnique, ENSAE and the Institut d’études politiques de Paris, he joined Goldman Sachs in London in 1995. After two years in investment banking working on mergers and acquisitions, he moved into the partnership’s risk arbitrage business, which later became Goldman Sachs Principal Strategies (GSPS), the bank’s hedge fund focused on both listed and private markets. In 2002, Flamand was appointed head of GSPS Europe, and in 2004 he became a Partner at Goldman Sachs. From 2007 to 2010, he led GSPS globally and served on Goldman Sachs’ Global Risk Committee, underscoring his strong command of risk management, capital allocation and sophisticated portfolio construction. In 2010, he founded his own investment firm, Edoma, which reportedly managed US$2.5 billion in assets, demonstrating his ability to build a successful independent platform. In 2014, he joined MAN Group plc and became CIO / Partner of MAN GLG, the discretionary investment arm of MAN, responsible for all investment teams across asset classes. He also served on MAN’s Risk Committee until 2019, and subsequently acted as a senior adviser to the group from 2019 to 2022. His background therefore combines active investment management, risk oversight, international team leadership and the creation of long-term value in demanding market environments. At Tikehau Capital, Flamand contributes a highly institutional perspective on alternative markets and governance. His profile strengthens the group’s ability to combine investment discipline, careful risk-taking and a nuanced understanding of the global asset management landscape.
