Marc Büker is a key governance figure at SCOR SE, where he serves as a director representing employees and sits on the Nomination and Compensation Committee. He is a dual French and Turkish citizen and holds a degree in International Business Law from the University of Paris I – Sorbonne. His profile stands out for combining media, entrepreneurial and insurance-sector experience, giving him a broad perspective on both strategic and operational issues in international businesses. Büker began his career in journalism before launching Turkey’s first private radio station in 1992. He later helped build the country’s first private television company and eventually sold the group in 2002. That early entrepreneurial path gave him hands-on experience in launching businesses, managing growth, and navigating regulated markets in highly competitive environments. He joined SCOR SE in 2002, initially working in the P&C Treaty division as an underwriter for markets including North Africa, Southern Africa, the Middle East and the Gulf countries. He is now Market Manager for Southern Mediterranean, North Africa and French-speaking Africa. This progression shows a long-term internal career built on underwriting expertise, regional market knowledge and the ability to develop commercial relationships across diverse geographies. Within SCOR, he has also been involved in a cultural initiative known as the SCOR classical musical project, aimed at organizing concerts and identifying young talent.
