A graduate of École polytechnique and ENSAE, with a Master of Science in Economics from the London School of Economics and a PhD in economics, she has built a distinguished path through French and international economic institutions. She began her career at INSEE before holding several positions within the French Treasury, where she developed a deep understanding of macroeconomic policy, public finance and European affairs. From 2009 to 2011, she joined the International Monetary Fund in Washington, working on European economic matters and institutional policy issues. Back in France, she first became Deputy Director of the Treasury, then Deputy Chief of Staff to Prime Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault, before being appointed Chief of Staff to Finance Minister Michel Sapin and becoming the first woman to lead the finance minister’s cabinet.
