Miel Horsten is the Chief Operating Officer of Ayvens, a major international player in vehicle leasing and mobility services. He also holds a prominent position on the group’s Executive Committee, where he contributes to operational oversight and to aligning industrial, commercial, and organizational priorities. His career shows a steady rise within the leasing industry, with deep exposure to international growth, business structuring, and operational optimization. He began his career in 1997 at Michelin Benelux as an Account Manager before joining ALD Automotive in Belgium, then known as Hertz Lease, in 1999. There, he built strong expertise in mobility services, operations, and portfolio management, eventually becoming International Operations Project Manager. In 2003, he moved to the Paris headquarters and played a role in the creation of ALD RE, the group’s captive reinsurance company, demonstrating his ability to contribute to strategic, financially significant initiatives. After a three-year assignment in the United States, where he helped establish a group subsidiary, he returned to Paris in 2010 to lead Products and Services. In 2012, Miel Horsten was appointed CEO of ALD Automotive Belgium, a role he later combined with Regional Director Benelux in 2019. He also served as president of the Belgian leasing and rental association, Renta, underscoring his influence in the sector. In 2020, he joined ALD’s Executive Committee as Group Regional Director, with responsibility for Benelux, the Nordics, Ireland, and Southeast Asia, while also overseeing procurement and insurance for the group. His profile combines hands-on operational experience, international leadership, and a strong governance mindset, supporting Ayvens’ transformation and performance.
