Stéphane Aubarbier is currently Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Assystem, an international engineering and consulting group widely recognized for its expertise in energy, especially nuclear. A graduate of INSA Lyon and ESCP-EAP, he has built a career closely aligned with the industrial and energy development of the group. He began his professional journey at Assystem as a test engineer before taking on a range of operational responsibilities that led him to head the automotive segment. He then spent five years at ABB, where he managed maintenance contract activities in France and Southern Europe and later oversaw marketing and service development for Southern Europe. He returned to Assystem in 2002. Upon his return, Aubarbier played an important role in creating and developing the group’s engineering activities, while helping to reposition Assystem in energy and nuclear markets. Appointed Executive Vice President of the group in 2005, he went on to oversee the automotive, manufacturing, and energy sectors, while also supporting the company’s expansion in the Middle East and Asia. In 2018, he became Chief Operating Officer, and on January 24, 2023, he was appointed Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Assystem, with responsibility for all company functions. His career reflects deep expertise in complex industrial operations, business transformation, and international development. He has also been an influential industry voice, having served as President of Syntec-Ingénierie and as a member of the Strategic Committee of the French Nuclear Industry since 2011.
