Moulay Hafid Elalamy is a prominent Moroccan business leader known for combining entrepreneurial experience, public-sector leadership, and corporate governance expertise. He founded the Saham Group in 1995 and built it into a diversified pan-African conglomerate active in insurance, offshoring, health services, and other businesses. Before founding Saham, he worked in senior roles in Morocco’s insurance sector, which helped him develop deep expertise in operational leadership, regional expansion, and long-term corporate strategy. His career has consistently reflected an ability to scale businesses, manage transformation, and navigate complex markets. Elalamy also had a high-profile public career. In 2013, he was appointed Morocco’s Minister of Industry, Trade, Investment and the Digital Economy, where he became associated with industrial policy, investment promotion, and national competitiveness initiatives. That ministerial role gave him first-hand experience with policymaking, stakeholder alignment, and the strategic needs of an emerging economy. Prior to entering government, he also held leading employer-representation responsibilities, including as president of the CGEM, Morocco’s main employers’ association. At Teleperformance, he joined the Board of Directors in 2024 and was later appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors in August 2024, according to official company communications. Teleperformance has presented his arrival as part of a governance-strengthening move, bringing in a leader with experience in large-scale growth, international expansion, and transformation. His background is particularly relevant for a global customer experience and digital services group facing major strategic questions around AI, employee engagement, performance, and long-term value creation. As Chairman, he brings entrepreneurial credibility and institutional experience to one of the world’s leading listed services companies.
