Jérôme Viala is a long-standing executive of Lectra, where he has spent the bulk of his professional career since joining the company in 1985. He began his career as a credit analyst at Esso (France) before moving into Lectra’s finance department. He then progressed through a series of increasingly senior responsibilities, including Financial Controller for Europe and North America, Finance Director of Lectra France, and later Finance Director of the Products division. This steady internal progression gave him a deep understanding of financial management, operational control, and the demands of running an international listed company. In 1994, he was appointed Chief Financial Officer of the Lectra Group, a position he held until 2016. In that role, he played a central part in shaping the Group’s financial structure, reporting discipline, and performance management over many years. He then became Executive Vice President in 2016, and in his final operational years served as Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee and Secretary to the Board of Directors. He retired on March 31, 2024, after nearly four decades with the company. Since April 26, 2024, Jérôme Viala has served as a Director on Lectra’s Board of Directors, where he continues to contribute to strategic thinking and key governance decisions. His profile reflects exceptional institutional knowledge of Lectra’s business, markets, and value creation drivers. A graduate of KEDGE Business School, he is widely seen as a seasoned finance executive with strong expertise in corporate governance, internal controls, financing, and the oversight of a publicly listed industrial technology group. His career has been closely tied to Lectra’s transformation, long-term development, and strategic decision-making.
