Dierk Paskert is a German energy executive and independent director of TotalEnergies SE, appointed in May 2023 for a term running until the Annual Shareholders’ Meeting on May 29, 2026. He also serves as chair of the Compensation Committee, a role that highlights his background in governance, executive oversight, and long-term performance management. He holds a PhD in Economics from Münster University, earned in 1990. He began his career in investment banking, first at Trinkaus Samuel Montagu and then at West Merchant Bank. From 2017 through the end of 2022, Paskert served as CEO of Encavis AG, a listed renewable power producer on Germany’s MDAX. During his tenure, he expanded the production portfolio to more than 4 GW, emphasized power purchase agreements and traded markets, and introduced a risk management system to address the company’s growing merchant exposure in renewables. His career combines strategic development, utility operations, grid management, renewables, and risk discipline, making him a highly relevant board-level profile for a company like TotalEnergies that is balancing scale, profitability, and energy transition execution.
