Dagmar Valcarcel is an accomplished international executive with deep expertise in corporate governance, legal risk, financial services and regulated businesses. At Antin Infrastructure Partners, she serves as an Independent Director and contributes to several key board committees, including the Nominations and Compensation Committee, the Sustainability Committee and the Audit Committee. Her appointment reflects a governance profile that is especially valuable for a listed infrastructure investment platform operating across multiple jurisdictions and regulatory frameworks. Her career spans law firms, private investment and senior in-house leadership roles in global banking. Before joining Antin, she held senior positions at Barclays, having joined the bank in January 2010 from Terra Firma Capital Partners, where she was a Director in the Legal, Tax and Structuring team. Earlier in her career, she worked at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, Clyde & Co and General & Cologne Re, building a strong foundation in legal advisory work, structuring and cross-border business matters. At Barclays, Valcarcel played a central role in the group’s Western European operations. As General Counsel Western Europe, she was responsible for legal support and risk management across Retail and Business Banking, Wealth and Investment Management, and Corporate and Investment Banking throughout continental Europe. From 2015 to 2017, she served as Managing Director, Head of Strategic Resolution, Insurance Operations in Barclays Bank PLC’s Non-Core division, where she led the divestment of Barclays’ insurance businesses across Western Europe. That mandate required rigorous execution, stakeholder coordination and careful regulatory navigation. She has also held notable governance mandates outside Antin. She was Non-Executive Chairwoman of the Management Board of Andbank Asset Management Luxembourg SA and a member of the General Council of the Hellenic Financial Stability Fund, the Greek vehicle set up to stabilize the domestic banking sector. More recently, she served as an independent non-executive member of the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Bank AG, where she chaired the Regulatory Oversight Committee until 22 May 2025 and sat on the Audit and Remuneration Committees. She is also an independent member of the Supervisory Board of Amedes Holding GmbH. With a PhD in Law from the University of Bonn and qualifications in England and Wales, Germany and Spain, she brings rare transnational credibility to board-level oversight.
