Augustin de Romanet is a leading French corporate executive whose career combines senior public service with the leadership of major listed companies. A graduate of the Paris Institute of Political Studies (Sciences Po) and of the École Nationale d’Administration (ENA), class of Diderot in 1986, he began his career in the French civil service at the Ministry of the Budget, where he held a variety of responsibilities from 1986 to 1997. He then moved into the private sector, including a period at Oddo & Cie, before returning to high-level public decision-making through several ministerial offices between 2002 and 2005. From June 2005 to October 2006, he served as Deputy Secretary-General of the French Presidency. This background gave him a strong foundation in economic policy, public finance and institutional leadership. In 2006, he shifted toward corporate management and finance, becoming Deputy Chief Financial Officer of Crédit Agricole SA. He then served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations from 2007 to 2012, while also chairing the Strategic Investment Fund from 2009 to 2012. These roles strengthened his expertise in long-term capital allocation, strategic investments and the governance of major public-interest assets. In 2012, he was appointed Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Groupe ADP, a role he held until February 2025. At ADP, he led one of the world’s key airport infrastructure groups through a period defined by international expansion, service transformation, passenger-experience improvement and environmental transition. Alongside his executive career, Augustin de Romanet built extensive board-level experience. Since 2015, he has served as Vice-Chairman of SCOR’s Board of Directors and as Chairman of its Sustainable Development Committee, and since 2018 he has chaired the Board of Paris Europlace. In October 2025, Edenred co-opted him as an independent director, highlighting both his track record as a Chairman and CEO and his experience as a listed-company director, as well as his former senior civil service background. His profile is widely associated with governance excellence, strategic oversight, financial expertise and stakeholder dialogue.
