Adamo Screnci is an experienced industrial executive with a strong track record in the hydrogen sector and broader energy-transition industries. His most notable and recent role at HYDROGEN-REFUELING-SOLUTIONS SA (HRS) was as Deputy Chief Executive Officer, a position he took up in September 2021 and from which he later stepped down in early 2023. At HRS, he contributed to shaping the company’s commercial and industrial development as one of Europe’s specialized hydrogen refueling-station players, at a time when the market was expanding and infrastructure deployment became increasingly strategic. A graduate of the Grenoble Institute of Technology and INSEAD, Screnci has built a career spanning more than 30 years across strategy, operations, and business development. He joined Air Liquide in 2000, where he held senior management responsibilities, including Vice President of Sales and Marketing and a seat on the management committee of the Advanced Technologies division. He then joined McPhy in 2009 at an early stage of the company’s life cycle and helped develop the business through multiple growth phases, eventually becoming Deputy Chief Executive Officer in 2015. In 2017, he moved to thyssenkrupp as global head of business development for green hydrogen and green chemistry, before taking over the Hydrogen division at TotalEnergies in 2020, where he led several major projects with key industry stakeholders. His profile stands out for its combination of market-building expertise, industrial partnership development, and international hydrogen-sector leadership. He has also held positions within industry bodies and specialized networks, which strengthened his influence in the hydrogen ecosystem. This blend of operational leadership, strategic insight, and deep knowledge of decarbonization challenges made him a valuable executive for companies operating in emerging clean-energy markets and scaling technologies for the energy transition.
