Grégoire Castaing is a seasoned French finance executive and currently serves as Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Louis Hachette Group, a role to which he was appointed on 22 October 2024 as part of Vivendi’s demerger and the creation of the listed company. Born on 21 October 1976, he graduated from École normale supérieure Paris-Saclay, where he qualified to teach economics and management, and he also holds a postgraduate degree in finance. He began his career in audit and advisory work at Arthur Andersen and later Ernst & Young, building a strong technical foundation in financial control, risk management and corporate governance. He joined Canal+ Group in 2007 as Deputy Head of Internal Audit. Over time, he moved through a series of senior finance roles: Head of Financial Services, then Group Chief Financial Officer, and ultimately Deputy Chief Executive Officer in charge of Finance and Strategy, while also serving as a member of the Management Board. This progression reflects deep expertise in financial leadership, strategic planning and the management of large international media and services businesses. On 3 June 2024, Castaing was appointed Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Lagardère group in charge of Finance and joined its Executive Committee. A few months later, in the context of Vivendi’s split, he was named Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Louis Hachette Group. In 2025, he was also appointed director of Hachette Livre and Lagardère Paris Racing Ressources, and Chairman of Lagardère North America, broadening his responsibilities across key assets in the group’s portfolio. His profile is that of a transformation-oriented executive operating at the intersection of finance, strategy and governance, with a strong understanding of complex corporate structures and listed-company environments. At Louis Hachette Group, his remit is to reinforce financial discipline, support the integration of group entities and help steer strategic decisions in a period of major structural change.
