Marie-Christine Lombard is a senior French executive with extensive experience in banking, transport and logistics. A graduate of ESSEC business school, she began her career in the banking sector, notably at Chemical Bank and Paribas, working successively in New York, Paris and Lyon. This early background gave her a strong foundation in corporate finance, client relations and risk management, skills she later applied in large-scale industrial and international environments. She then moved into the express services and logistics industry by joining Jet Services in 1993 as Chief Financial Officer, before being appointed Chief Executive Officer in 1997. In that role, she supported the company’s expansion and organisational development until its acquisition by TNT in 1999. She later became Chairman of TNT Express France, where she helped turn the business into one of the group’s strongest units, and was appointed Managing Director of TNT’s Express division in 2004. When TNT Express became an independent listed company in 2011, she was named Chief Executive Officer, confirming her ability to lead transformation and value creation in a highly competitive sector. In October 2012, she joined Geodis, first as Chief Executive Officer, and then as Chairwoman of the Executive Board from December 2013. At the helm of one of France’s and Europe’s leading logistics companies, she has overseen international development, strengthened the group’s positions in transport, freight forwarding and supply chain services, and driven operational modernisation. She also holds governance responsibilities at major listed groups, including BNP Paribas, where she serves as a director and chairs the Remuneration Committee. Her career reflects a rare combination of financial and industrial expertise, together with deep experience in governance, strategy, corporate transformation and international leadership.
