Guy Sidos is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Vicat S.A., a leading industrial group in construction materials, particularly cement, concrete, and aggregates. Born on September 13, 1963, he is a graduate engineer from the French Naval Academy and a former naval officer. After leaving active military service in 1999, following a career that included commanding the fast attack submarine Perle, he joined Vicat the same year as a cement plant engineer. His career within Vicat shows a steady progression through operational and executive responsibilities. In 2001, he was given charge of the Ragland cement plant in Alabama, United States, gaining substantial international experience in the cement industry. In 2002, he became Chief Executive Officer of National Cement, Vicat’s North American subsidiary. He then moved back to France in 2004 as Group Deputy Chief Operating Officer, before being promoted to Chief Executive Officer in 2008. On March 7, 2014, Vicat’s Board of Directors appointed him Chairman and CEO, a role he has held ever since.
