Carole Le Gall is a French executive known for her strong expertise in public policy, energy transition, sustainability and the transformation of built-environment and utility business models. As an independent director of SPIE SA, she brings the board a rare combination of experience gained across public institutions, environmental policy, technical regulation and large-scale corporate leadership. According to SPIE’s official governance materials, she began her career in local economic development, first working for the French state and then for a local authority. She later joined ADEME, the French ecological transition agency, where she helped develop markets for energy efficiency and renewable energy. She then led and grew the CSTB for six years, a key French reference body for building science and technical performance, giving her a deep understanding of construction standards, building sustainability and applied innovation. In 2015, Carole Le Gall joined ENGIE, where she initially took responsibility for marketing energy-efficiency solutions for buildings. She subsequently became Managing Director of the France Networks business unit and later Deputy Managing Director of ENGIE Solutions. These roles show a consistent ability to structure complex service offerings, manage operational businesses and support decarbonization initiatives for both public- and private-sector clients. In July 2021, she joined TotalEnergies as Sustainability & Climate Senior Vice President, in charge of programs supporting the group’s energy-transition ambitions. She is also an independent director of Gecina, where she serves on the CSR Committee and the Compliance and Ethics Committee. At SPIE, her profile strengthens the board’s strategic perspective on energy efficiency, corporate responsibility, compliance and long-term sustainability governance, all of which are critical issues for a multi-technical services group navigating the energy transition.
