Soumen Das is a highly experienced listed-company finance executive known for his expertise in corporate finance, capital allocation, risk management and transformation. He joined SEGRO in January 2017 as Chief Financial Officer after holding senior finance roles in other listed businesses, including Finance Director of Wagon plc and partner at Arthur Andersen. SEGRO has described him as bringing extensive capital-markets experience and deep knowledge of the requirements of public companies. At SEGRO, Das played a central role in shaping the group’s financial framework and supporting long-term performance. According to SEGRO, he was responsible for improving financial performance, maintaining an efficient capital structure suited to different phases of the property cycle, and overseeing risk management, investment and technology strategies. The company also notes that his remit extended beyond finance into broader business development, analysis, transformation and innovation. During his tenure, SEGRO highlighted his contribution to a period of significant growth for the business, which emerged as one of Europe’s leading owners, managers and developers of modern warehousing and industrial assets. In April 2025, SEGRO announced that he intended to retire from the CFO and Executive Director roles, while remaining with the business until the end of the year to ensure an orderly handover. The company thanked him for his substantial contribution to the group’s growth and success over eight years. Das has also stood out for his involvement in diversity and inclusion initiatives in UK boardrooms. He was appointed Co-Chair of the Parker Review in October 2022, and SEGRO has noted his work on ethnic diversity and his patronage of initiatives aimed at introducing young people from diverse backgrounds to real estate.
