Pierre Barnabé is a French technology and telecommunications executive best known for serving as Chief Executive Officer of Soitec, the French listed company on Euronext Paris and a global leader in innovative semiconductor materials. He joined Soitec in May 2022 and officially assumed the CEO role on July 26, 2022. His appointment was part of a planned leadership succession designed to ensure continuity at the top of the group. Before joining Soitec, Barnabé built a career in complex, highly technical, and capital-intensive environments. From 2015 to 2021, he served at Atos as Senior Executive Vice-President in charge of the Big Data & Cybersecurity business unit. Starting in 2019, he also oversaw the Public Sector & Defense and Manufacturing activities, with responsibility for multibillion-euro revenues and more than 11,000 employees worldwide. In 2021, he acted as interim CEO of Atos, further strengthening his profile as a transformation-oriented leader. His background also includes substantial experience at Bull, where he was Deputy Chief Executive Officer until 2015, before the company’s acquisition by Atos. Earlier, between 2011 and 2013, he led SFR’s enterprise division, where he launched cloud computing and very-high-speed broadband initiatives. This career path helped him develop deep expertise in digital infrastructure, cybersecurity, B2B markets, and the management of large-scale industrial programs. As Soitec’s CEO, Barnabé has focused on innovation, industrial scaling, and sustainable value creation. He has supported the development of technologies such as SmartSiC™ for electric vehicles and helped strengthen Soitec’s position in global semiconductor markets. A graduate of NEOMA Business School and École Centrale Paris, he combines strong management and engineering credentials with experience leading major technology and industrial organizations through strategic change.
