Larry Abensur is a leading executive in in vitro diagnostics and medtech in France, best known as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of BIOSYNEX. He holds an engineering degree from the École Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Paris and an MBA from INSEAD, a combination that gives him both technical depth and strategic management skills, particularly well suited to healthcare and life-sciences businesses. Before becoming closely associated with BIOSYNEX, he built a strong background in pharmaceutical and diagnostic markets, holding a range of marketing roles over nine years, including positions at ELI LILLY and UPJOHN France, where he developed expertise in product strategy, commercialization, and market positioning. He later served as General Manager of PBS ORGENICS for six years, until its merger with SELF CARE (INVERNESS) and the company’s Nasdaq listing. This phase gave him international exposure and experience in managing a business operating within a highly regulated and competitive environment. In 1993 and 1994, he co-founded ALL DIAG and DECTRA PHARM, demonstrating an entrepreneurial mindset and a consistent focus on specialized healthcare and diagnostics opportunities. In 2005, Larry Abensur took part in the creation of BIOSYNEX, which he co-managed until October 2010. He then returned to lead the broader group project, and since June 2015 has been the driving force behind the creation and growth of the BIOSYNEX group. Under his leadership, BIOSYNEX has become a major player in rapid diagnostic tests, combining innovation, industrial integration, and international expansion. He has helped shape the group’s growth strategy, its presence in public-health-related markets, and its ability to respond to manufacturing and reshoring challenges. His career reflects deep expertise in diagnostics, corporate growth, transformation management, and the governance of listed healthcare companies.
