John Saffrett is an experienced executive in the mobility and vehicle leasing industry, closely associated with the development of ALD Automotive and later Ayvens within the Société Générale Group. He joined ALD Automotive’s UK sales account management team in 1997 and moved into the IT director role in 2002, beginning a career that combined commercial exposure, technology leadership and operational management. From 2006 to 2015, he spent nine years at Fimat/Newedge UK, now Société Générale Prime Services, before returning to ALD in 2015 as Chief Administration Officer and later Chief Operating Officer. He was appointed Deputy Chief Executive Officer in April 2019, with responsibility for operations and for overseeing IT and digitalisation, two areas that are central to the transformation of a leasing and mobility business. In February 2020, Société Générale included him among the group management appointments linked to ALD Automotive, reflecting his importance in the company’s governance and execution framework. He was reappointed in March 2024 as Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Ayvens, and in December 2025 the Board renewed his mandate until 30 June 2026. Ayvens later disclosed the end of his term following his resignation effective 5 February 2026. Saffrett holds a Bachelor’s degree in IT from Hertfordshire University and an MBA from Nottingham Trent University. This blend of technical education and managerial training helped shape a profile suited to large-scale operational leadership, process optimisation and digital transformation. His career is notable for long-term continuity, deep sector knowledge and a role in supporting Ayvens’ evolution as a global sustainable mobility player.
