Jean-Pierre Duprieu is a well-known figure in French corporate governance, with particular depth in industrial businesses and health-related services. An agricultural engineer by training, he graduated from the Institut National Agronomique de Paris-Grignon (AgroParisTech), the Institut de Contrôle de Gestion de Paris, and the International Forum, an advanced management program associated with Wharton University. He built almost his entire career within Air Liquide, which he joined in 1976, and over time he held a wide range of commercial, operational, strategic, and general management roles. This long internal career gave him a broad understanding of performance management, international expansion, and large-scale transformation. At Air Liquide, Duprieu led the Europe, Africa and Middle East region for nearly ten years before taking charge of Asia-Pacific in 2005 as a member of the group’s Executive Committee based in Tokyo. In 2010, he was appointed Deputy Chief Executive Officer, a position he held until his retirement in 2016. In that role, he supervised Air Liquide’s industrial activities in Europe and its global health businesses, including hospital care, home care, and strategy through the Health World Business Line. He was also responsible for IT infrastructure purchasing, the group’s digital transformation, and the development of e-health services. He additionally served on Air Liquide’s Risk Committee and Central Works Council. After leaving executive management, he took on several board-level mandates. He is a member of Michelin’s Supervisory Board, where he chairs the Compensation and Appointments Committee, a board member of Groupe SEB, and a member of Dehon’s Supervisory Board. He also serves as volunteer chairman of Fondation Correspondances. At Clariane SE, Duprieu played a significant governance role. He first joined as an independent director in 2016 and later became Chairman of the Board of Directors in 2020, a position he held until 2025. His tenure was characterized by a strong emphasis on shareholder dialogue, governance stability, care quality, human resources, and CSR matters. In March 2025, Clariane announced that he would not seek renewal of his directorship, ahead of the statutory age limit, and acknowledged his major contribution to the quality and stability of the group’s governance.
