About César GIRON
César Giron is a French business executive closely associated with the history and governance of Pernod Ricard. A graduate of the EMLYON business school, he joined the Pernod Ricard Group in 1987 and has spent his entire career within the company. That long tenure gave him deep expertise in the spirits industry, including brand management, international market development, distribution networks, and leadership in multicultural environments. He has been a director of Pernod Ricard since 2008 and also serves on the Management Board of Société Paul Ricard, reflecting both his operational role and his connection to the founding family. As the grandson of Paul Ricard, he occupies a distinctive place in the group’s heritage and governance structure. Throughout his career, Giron has held several senior leadership positions in strategically important subsidiaries. In 2000, he was appointed CEO of Pernod Ricard Swiss SA, where he managed business in a demanding regulatory environment and in a highly competitive market. In December 2003, he became Chairman and CEO of Wyborowa SA in Poland, strengthening the group’s position in a key Central European market. From July 2009, he served as Chairman and CEO of Pernod, and on 1 July 2015 he was appointed Chairman and CEO of Martell Mumm Perrier-Jouët. These successive roles show his ability to lead prestigious maisons, protect their identity, and support their commercial growth. His career highlights expertise in brand strategy, international business execution, and the governance of heritage-driven luxury and premium spirits assets. Because he has spent decades inside Pernod Ricard, he brings a rare combination of operational experience, long-term continuity, and family legacy. In successive leadership posts, César Giron helped reinforce the group’s global footprint while preserving the value and distinctiveness of its maisons.
