Sterling Anderson is a co-founder of Aurora Innovation, where he served as Chief Product Officer from the company’s founding in 2017 and as a board member since January 2018. Aurora also states that before founding the company, he led the design, development, and launch of the Tesla Model X and led the team that delivered Tesla Autopilot, and that he developed MIT’s Intelligent Co-Pilot. In May 2025, Aurora disclosed that he notified the company of his resignation as Chief Product Officer effective June 1, 2025, and from the board effective August 31, 2025.
