About Vincent Kamel
Vincent Kamel is the Chief Executive Officer of CARBIOS, the French industrial biotech company focused on enzymatic recycling solutions for plastics and textiles. He is an engineer from École Centrale de Lyon and brings more than 35 years of experience in the chemical and polymer industries, in France and abroad. His career was built within major industrial groups including Rhône-Poulenc, Rhodia and Solvay, where he held senior leadership positions such as Chief Executive Officer of Solvay’s Polyamide Division, Head of the Coatis business unit, and Asia Director for Engineering Plastics. This background gave him a strong command of large-scale industrial operations, complex transformation programs, performance management, and international business development. Over the course of his career, he worked in several key markets, including China, South Korea and Brazil, which strengthened his understanding of global supply chains, manufacturing constraints and cross-border industrial expansion. That combination of operational discipline and strategic execution is especially relevant in a company such as CARBIOS, where the challenge is not only technological innovation but also industrial scaling and commercialization. Kamel has been involved in CARBIOS’ development since 2021, first as a member of the Board of Directors and later, from December 2024, as an advisor to executive management. He was appointed CEO in 2025. In this role, he is responsible for executing CARBIOS’ strategic roadmap, with a particular focus on securing the additional financing required to build the company’s PET biorecycling plant in Longlaville. His appointment reflects a governance phase centered on industrial credibility, funding execution and the transition from technology validation to large-scale deployment. At CARBIOS, Vincent Kamel represents a senior industrial leader profile: one that combines deep sector expertise, international management experience and an execution-focused mindset. His leadership is closely associated with CARBIOS’ next stage of development, namely industrialization, strategic partnerships and long-term value creation in the circular economy for plastics.
