Véronique Bédague-Hamilius is a French executive known for a career that bridges senior public administration and the leadership of listed companies. She has served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Nexity since January 1, 2023, after becoming Chief Executive Officer in May 2021. She joined Nexity in 2017 as Group Secretary General and member of the executive committee, with responsibility for legal affairs, human resources and broader support for the company’s transformation agenda. Over time, she became one of the central figures in Nexity’s governance and strategic execution. Before joining Nexity, she built a high-level public-sector career. She started at the French Ministry of Finance in 1990, working in the Budget Directorate and later in the office of the Minister for Economy and Finance. She then served as an economist at the International Monetary Fund in Washington from 1994 to 1997. In 2002, she joined the City of Paris as Director of Finance, and in 2008 was appointed Chief Administrative Officer, one of the most senior management roles within the city administration. From 2014 to 2016, she served as chief of staff to the French Prime Minister. An alumna of Sciences Po Paris, ESSEC and the École nationale d’administration, she brings deep expertise in governance, public finance, organizational leadership and corporate transformation. At Nexity, she has overseen a major governance evolution and supported the group’s strategic refocusing in a difficult housing market. Her leadership has been associated with a stronger emphasis on simplification, operational agility, and portfolio choices aimed at reinforcing the company’s long-term positioning. She has also played a key role in communicating and implementing the “New Nexity” strategic direction, as the group adapted to a changing real-estate cycle.
