Thomas Reynaud is the Chief Executive Officer of iliad Group, the parent company of Free, and one of the most prominent executives in France’s listed telecom sector. He holds degrees from HEC and New York University, and began his career in New York in 1997 at Société Générale, working on corporate debt. He later moved to Société Générale in France, joining the Equity Capital Markets team, where he worked on a wide range of transactions, including IPOs, privatizations, and capital raisings. In that capacity, he also advised iliad on its 2004 IPO and its 2006 convertible bond issue. He officially joined iliad in 2007 as Head of Business Development and Financing, with a mandate to help structure the group’s growth. He became Chief Financial Officer in 2008, then Deputy Chief Executive Officer in 2010. In May 2018, the Board of Directors appointed him CEO of iliad, at a time when the group was accelerating its development in France and abroad. Since then, he has overseen execution of the group’s strategy in coordination with Xavier Niel, Chairman of the Board. His iliad career has been strongly shaped by financing, governance, and expansion topics. He has helped strengthen the group’s financial profile and supported its expansion across European markets. Under his leadership, iliad has continued to grow in France, Italy, and Poland, with an increasing focus on innovation, profitable growth, operational execution, and financial discipline. The group has also stepped up its extra-financial reporting and its commitments related to the energy transition, digital inclusion, and digital rights. Thomas Reynaud stands out as a finance-trained executive who evolved into a top operational leader, combining capital markets expertise, deep telecom knowledge, and the ability to structure growth phases. His management style is associated with long-term vision, strong execution discipline, and a strategic focus on sustainable value creation for a European listed company.
