About Thomas BRANCHE
Thomas Branche is a French senior executive in engineering and energy, currently serving as Executive Vice President France at Assystem. A graduate of the École Polytechnique and a member of the Corps des Mines, he has built a career at the crossroads of industry, public policy, and major energy challenges. He began his professional journey at Total Exploration & Production, gaining first-hand exposure to demanding industrial operations, before moving into the French Ministry for Energy. In government, Thomas Branche was given responsibility for the nuclear division within the Directorate General for Energy and Climate, and later became Deputy Head of Cabinet to the French Minister for Industry, Energy, and the Digital Economy. These roles gave him a deep understanding of energy policy, nuclear regulation, and the relationship between public authorities and industrial stakeholders. They also shaped the strategic perspective he would later bring to the private sector. He joined Assystem in July 2012, where he took charge of the French Nuclear business unit. In this position, he contributed to the management and development of one of the group’s core historical activities. In 2016, he moved to Dubai to lead Assystem’s operations in the Middle East and Central Asia, expanding his scope to international growth markets and technically demanding projects. In 2017, he was appointed Senior Vice President in charge of Energy Transition and Infrastructure activities, and in 2022 he took responsibility for Assystem’s engineering activities worldwide. His appointment as Executive Vice President France in 2025 underlines his importance within the group and his ability to represent Assystem’s priorities in the French market. Thomas Branche also serves as an elected member of the GIFE board, reinforcing his involvement in the nuclear supply chain and sector-wide dialogue. His profile combines public-sector insight and industrial leadership, making him particularly well suited to the nuclear, energy transition, and complex infrastructure segments.
