Thierry Charvet is a senior French industrial executive at Renault Group, where he currently serves as Chief Industry, Quality and Supply Chain Officer. A graduate of École Polytechnique, he joined Renault in 1993 as an engineer in the Research Department. This early technical foundation gave him a deep understanding of product development, industrial performance and quality management, which later became defining elements of his career. In 1996, Charvet moved to the Flins plant, where he held successive responsibilities in Quality, then Body Assembly and Sheet Metal. This operational experience anchored his leadership style in shop-floor realities and gave him a practical grasp of manufacturing constraints, process reliability and execution discipline. In 2006, he was appointed Project Director for Mégane, and in 2008 he became VP, Vehicle Development Engineering at the Technocentre in Guyancourt. That role placed him at the intersection of engineering, industrialization and customer expectations. From January to August 2011, he served as Deputy Director of Operations at the Cléon plant, before being appointed VP of the Flins plant in September 2011. He later expanded his scope to Group- and Alliance-level transformation. Between 2014 and 2017, he served as Alliance Global Director, Industrial Performance, and in 2017 he became Alliance Global VP, Manufacturing Engineering. In November 2021, he was appointed SVP, Quality, Renault Group. On January 15, 2023, he became EVP, Group Industry and Quality and joined Renault Group’s Board of Management. In 2023, he was also named Chief Industry & Quality Officer. As of September 1, 2025, his responsibilities were further expanded to include Supply Chain. Charvet is closely associated with Renault Group’s quality transformation agenda and its Renaulution strategy. Under his leadership, the Group has strengthened its launch-control processes, increased pre-launch validation through confirmation runs, and pushed quality higher in the decision-making chain. His contribution has been particularly notable in operational excellence, vehicle reliability, manufacturing discipline and the long-term improvement of customer satisfaction.
