Sylvie Kandé de Beaupuy is a French corporate governance specialist with deep expertise in business law, compliance, and board oversight. Her most notable role in relation to Alstom has been as an independent director and chair of the committee responsible for ethics, compliance, and sustainable development, later referred to as the Ethics and Sustainable Development Committee. In that capacity, she has contributed to strengthening internal controls, ethics oversight, and non-financial risk supervision within a large international industrial group operating in highly regulated markets. Her career began as a Paris-qualified lawyer, where she spent nearly twenty years in the corporate, mergers and acquisitions, and transactional practice at Clifford Chance Paris. That early experience gave her a strong foundation in complex legal structuring, cross-border transactions, and the management of risk in multinational environments. She then moved in-house, first at EADS ATR, where she served as General Counsel and Compliance Officer and sat on the executive committee. This role marked a shift from advisory work to direct operational responsibility, with a growing focus on compliance, governance, and decision-making support at senior level. She later joined Technip, where she served as Group Chief Compliance Officer and subsequently as Executive Vice President – Group Corporate Counsel. At Technip, she helped design and embed a compliance function that was fully integrated into the legal department, reflecting a forward-looking approach to corporate ethics and risk control. Since 2015, Kandé de Beaupuy has held senior responsibilities at Airbus as Executive Vice President and Group Ethics & Compliance Officer, while also being involved in diversity-related initiatives. Her profile is strongly associated with anti-corruption, regulatory compliance, corporate integrity, and governance culture. At Alstom, her appointment brought added legal and compliance expertise to the board at a time when strong oversight and ethical leadership were especially important for the company’s long-term credibility and performance.
