Sophie Boissard is a French business leader with a strong background in both public administration and corporate management. She is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Clariane SE, a leading European company focused on care services and support for vulnerable people. She has held this role since 26 January 2016, and her mandate was renewed in August 2024, reflecting continued confidence in her leadership. She also serves as a director of Clariane and as a member of the Supervisory Board of Allianz SE. Boissard graduated from the École normale supérieure and the École nationale d’administration, and she is a former senior official at the French Council of State. Her early career was spent in the public sector, where she held positions at the Council of State as well as in the French ministries responsible for Labour and Social Affairs, and the Economy and Finance. This background gave her deep expertise in regulation, public policy, governance, and institutional affairs—skills that are especially valuable in heavily regulated sectors such as healthcare and long-term care. She joined SNCF in 2008 and became a member of the executive committee. There, she created and developed Gares & Connexions, the division responsible for managing and enhancing railway stations. Between 2012 and 2014, she was also in charge of strategy and international development for the SNCF group. In 2014, she took responsibility for SNCF Immobilier, the unit dedicated to managing the group’s real estate and land assets. These roles strengthened her reputation as a strategist capable of leading complex transformations, managing major asset portfolios, and aligning operations with long-term corporate objectives. At Clariane, Boissard has overseen a major strategic transformation of the group, formerly known as Korian. Under her leadership, the company adopted the Clariane name in 2023 and launched a renewed corporate project centered on its social mission. The strategy emphasizes the transition toward outpatient care, the reinforcement of core expertise, and the building of lasting trust with patients, residents, families, and employees. Her leadership is associated with long-term value creation, social responsibility, and the modernization of one of Europe’s major care groups.
