Sébastien Clerc is a leading French executive in renewable energy and infrastructure. He joined Voltalia in 2011, when he was appointed Managing Director of the company following CREADEV’s entry into the capital of Voltalia Investissement, the holding company controlled by the Mulliez family. From that point on, he became the key leader behind Voltalia’s industrial, international and financial expansion. Voltalia states that he served as the group’s Chief Executive Officer for 13 years, before Robert Klein was appointed CEO in late 2024. During his tenure, Clerc oversaw Voltalia’s evolution from a project developer into an integrated renewable-energy platform spanning development, construction, operations and maintenance. Under his leadership, the company expanded its asset base, increased its operating capacity, strengthened its presence in Brazil, France and other markets, and built a more diversified service business for third-party clients. Voltalia highlighted, for example, growth in third-party operated capacity from 5.0 GW to more than 6.4 GW in 2024, illustrating the commercial strength of the group’s O&M platform. His strategic footprint also includes the promotion of corporate power purchase agreements, battery storage and competitive low-carbon electricity solutions. Voltalia repeatedly credits him with major milestones such as the first multi-buyer Green CPPA in Europe, renewable power supply agreements with clients such as Leroy Merlin, and hybrid solar-and-storage projects in French Guiana. These achievements point to strong expertise in long-term contract structuring, revenue stabilization and the scaling of renewable assets across international markets.
