Saïk Paugam is a seasoned executive and investor with a strong background in private equity and corporate governance across listed and unlisted companies. He graduated from HEC Paris and began his career in 2001 at Morgan Stanley, where he worked in mergers and acquisitions. This early experience gave him a solid foundation in transaction execution, valuation, negotiation, and strategic corporate finance, while exposing him to complex deals involving major French companies and institutional investors. In 2004, he joined Sagard Private Equity Partners, a mid-market investment platform focused on growth-oriented companies. His career at Sagard followed a clear progression: he started as an Associate, was promoted to Director in 2009, and became Partner in 2013. This advancement reflects both his investment track record and the confidence placed in his judgment. At Sagard, he has been involved in sourcing opportunities, assessing investment cases, executing transactions, monitoring portfolio companies, and managing exits. His work has given him a broad understanding of value creation levers, from operational improvement and organic growth to capital structure optimization and governance. At Bassac, Saïk Paugam plays an important governance role. He has been a member of the Board of Directors since 15 May 2020 and serves as Chairman of the Audit Committee. He previously sat on Bassac’s Supervisory Board between 2016 and 2019, which shows a long-standing relationship with the group and a deep familiarity with its strategic and financial priorities. As Audit Committee Chair, he is involved in overseeing financial reporting, internal control, risk management, and compliance. In a listed real-estate company, this role is particularly significant because of the importance of balance-sheet discipline, cash generation, asset quality, and long-term commitments.
