Philippe Guillemot has served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Vallourec since March 20, 2022, leading one of the world’s leading suppliers of premium tubular solutions for energy markets and demanding industrial applications. In this role, he combines strategic leadership with operational oversight of the group, at a time when the business must balance industrial transformation, financial discipline, and exposure to cyclical oil and gas markets. A graduate of École des Mines de Nancy and an MBA holder from Harvard Business School, Guillemot brings the profile of a seasoned industrial executive with a strong international background. He began his career in the automotive and consulting sectors before moving into senior roles at Michelin, followed by leadership positions at Valeo and Faurecia. He later became Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Areva Transmission & Distribution. He then served as Chief Executive Officer and board member of Europcar, and from 2013 to 2016 was Chief Operating Officer of Alcatel-Lucent, where he helped design a turnaround plan and supported the company’s integration into Nokia. From 2017 to 2022, he led Elior Group as Chief Executive Officer, where he worked on strengthening the company’s financial structure, developing a value-creating strategy, and building a more resilient organization during the Covid crisis. At Vallourec, his leadership has been closely associated with the “New Vallourec” transformation plan, aimed at accelerating the group’s industrial renewal, restoring balance sheet strength, and improving competitiveness. His background in restructuring, operational transformation, and large-scale industrial management has made him a central figure in Vallourec’s recent evolution. He is also a board member of Sonoco, reflecting his broader governance experience across listed companies.
