Philippe Charrier is a French business executive known for his experience in building, transforming and leading international companies in healthcare and consumer goods. A graduate of HEC Paris, he began his career at Procter & Gamble, where he held progressively more senior roles in France and the United States before becoming Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Procter & Gamble France. That early experience gave him a strong grounding in brand management, operational rigor, financial discipline and leadership of large teams. He later expanded his scope into healthcare and wellness. Charrier played a key role at Oenobiol, where he supported the company’s international development and helped turn a French business into a multinational group present in many countries. He also held senior leadership roles at Labco, a European medical diagnostics player, as well as at Ponroy-Havea. In 2019, he became Chief Executive Officer of Mayoly Spindler, an independent pharmaceutical laboratory focused on gastroenterology and dermo-cosmetics. At emeis, formerly ORPEA, Philippe Charrier was first appointed non-executive Chairman of the Board in 2017. On 30 January 2022, amid a major crisis for the group, he was appointed Chairman and Chief Executive Officer with immediate effect, with a mandate to restore trust, accelerate transparency and lead a deep overhaul of governance and operational practices. He later returned to the chairmanship of the board before the company reverted to a split governance structure in July 2022, when Laurent Guillot became Chief Executive Officer. His profile is widely associated with the ability to structure complex organizations, lead international transformations and balance business performance, governance standards and accountability. Beyond his executive career, Charrier is also recognized for his philanthropic commitment, especially through Clubhouse France, an organization dedicated to helping people living with mental health conditions reintegrate socially and professionally. This social engagement further supports his reputation as a leader attentive to human, social and broader societal issues.
