Pascal Bantegnie is the Group Chief Financial Officer of Safran, one of the world’s leading aerospace, defense, and space groups. He has held this position since January 2022 and is a member of the Group Executive Committee, where he plays a central role in financial strategy, capital allocation, performance management, and overall corporate discipline. In a listed industrial company with long investment cycles and significant liquidity and financing needs, the CFO role is pivotal, and Bantegnie sits at the core of those decisions. Before becoming Group CFO, Bantegnie developed a long career across finance, investor relations, treasury, and strategy. He joined Safran in September 2009 as Head of Financial Communication, then became Economic and Strategic Affairs Director at Safran Electrical & Power in 2013. In July 2018, he was appointed Group Treasurer, and in March 2020 he also took responsibility for Safran’s financing activities. This progression shows deep expertise in capital markets, cash management, and corporate funding, all of which are essential for a global industrial group. His earlier career was built outside Safran and gave him a broad industrial and financial foundation. He started in 1994 in the space industry as an engineer at CNES and Aérospatiale Satellites, before moving to AGF as a space risk underwriter. He then joined Alcatel’s investor relations team in 2001 and later led that function in 2004, during the Alcatel-Lucent era. In 2007, he became Communications and Investor Relations Director of the financial holding company Sequana. This trajectory gave him a strong combination of technical understanding, stakeholder communication, and financial messaging skills. Bantegnie holds an engineering degree from ESTACA and a master’s degree in space engineering from ENSAE SupAéro. His profile is notable for bridging engineering and finance, a combination that is particularly valuable in aerospace and defense. At Safran, he has been responsible for key financial functions across treasury, funding, and investor communication, supporting the Group’s resilience, market credibility, and long-term value creation. His experience makes him a seasoned executive with strong command of both operational and strategic financial issues.
