Olivier Fournier holds one of the most important cross-functional leadership roles at Hermès International, where he serves as Director General for Governance and Organizational Development and sits on the Executive Committee. Official Hermès sources also show that he has chaired the Fondation d’entreprise Hermès since February 8, 2016. His responsibilities place him at the intersection of corporate governance, people management, risk oversight, social affairs, sustainability and organizational strategy. Fournier joined Hermès in 1991 and has spent his entire career inside the Group, building a broad and deeply rooted understanding of the business. He began in finance and internal audit at Hermès International, before moving into operational management roles in Lyon within the textile production division. Over time, he was entrusted with general management positions at Sport Soie, Bucol and Holding Textile Hermès, and later led the Hermès Sellier leather goods and saddlery craftsmanship division. This progression reflects a career that combines financial rigor, industrial management and a strong grasp of the artisan model that underpins Hermès. Since his Executive Committee appointment in 2015, his remit has expanded to include Group Human Resources, Audit and Risk Management, Sustainable Development, Real Estate Development and Hermès Services Groupe. That scope suggests a manager with significant transversal authority, responsible not only for internal control and organizational design, but also for reinforcing the social and cultural foundations of the business.
