Olivier Bazil is a long-standing figure at Legrand, one of the world’s leading companies in electrical and digital building infrastructures. He graduated from HEC and earned an MBA from Harvard Business School. Bazil joined Legrand in 1973 as assistant to the General Secretary, with responsibility for financial information and for supporting the group’s growth strategy. That early appointment launched a career that would be entirely shaped within the company, where he steadily advanced into senior leadership roles. In 1979, he was appointed Chief Financial Officer of Legrand, a role that placed him at the center of the group’s financial discipline, planning and performance management. He later became Deputy Chief Executive Officer in 1993 and then Vice-Chairman and Chief Operating Officer in 2000, positions he held until Legrand’s Annual General Meeting on 26 May 2011.
