Marie-José Donsion is a French finance executive known for her career in large listed industrial groups, with strong expertise in financial performance management, control, governance and transformation. She is currently Chief Financial Officer of Arkema and a member of the Executive Committee, a role she has held since 1 June 2018. In this position, she contributes to the group’s financial steering, capital allocation discipline, performance oversight and support for major strategic decisions. She also serves on Arkema’s Board of Directors, where she was co-opted in November 2016, and has chaired the Audit and Accounts Committee, underlining her deep understanding of listed-company governance. Before joining Arkema, Marie-José Donsion was Senior Vice-President Finance at Alstom and a member of its Executive Committee. Prior to that, she held a range of operational finance roles across France and abroad, building broad experience in complex industrial environments, multi-country subsidiaries and financial structuring in a context of growth and transformation. She began her career at Coopers & Lybrand in audit from 1994 to 1997, an early experience that likely strengthened her analytical rigor and command of reporting standards and internal control. A graduate of ESCP Europe, she was born in 1971 and holds dual French and Spanish nationality. At Arkema, her appointment came at a time when the group was reinforcing its financial governance framework. Her responsibilities have included supporting an international chemicals company in investment management, financial discipline and the execution of its profitable growth strategy. Her career reflects the profile of an experienced CFO, able to operate at the highest level in listed industrial companies, with added credibility from significant board and audit committee experience.
