Luca de Meo is a leading Italian-European executive and, since September 15, 2025, the Chief Executive Officer of Kering and a member of the Group’s Board of Directors. His appointment marked an important governance shift for Kering at a time when the luxury group was seeking to strengthen leadership and accelerate its strategic transformation. Before entering the luxury sector, de Meo built a distinguished career in the automotive industry, where he became widely known for brand repositioning, strategic marketing, and large-scale corporate turnaround work. He began his career at Renault in 1992, then moved to Toyota Europe. He later joined the Fiat Group, where he held senior leadership positions including Director of the Lancia, Fiat and Alfa Romeo divisions, CEO of Abarth, and Marketing Director of the Fiat Group. In 2009, he joined Volkswagen Group as Group and Volkswagen Brand Marketing Director. In 2012, he was appointed to the Management Board of AUDI AG with responsibility for sales and marketing. From November 2015 to January 2020, he served as President of SEAT and CUPRA, helping modernize the brand’s image and laying the groundwork for CUPRA’s growth. In July 2020, Luca de Meo was appointed CEO of the Renault Group. He then led a phase of strategic recovery and refocusing, with a strong emphasis on profitability, organizational simplification, and innovation. From January 2021 to February 2023, he also served as CEO of the Renault brand. He was President of the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA) from January 2023 to December 2024, and from November 2023 to March 2025 he also served as CEO of Ampere, strengthening his experience in electrification and software-defined mobility.
