About Jonathan CURIEL

Jonathan Curiel is a French media executive closely associated with M6 Group / Métropole Télévision. He holds degrees from ESSEC and the Paris Institute of Political Studies (Sciences Po Paris). He began his career in an institutional setting as a mission officer at the Permanent Representation of France to the United Nations before joining the M6 Group in 2008. That early international experience helped shape a disciplined approach to editorial issues, strategy, and corporate governance. Within M6 Group, Curiel first held roles supporting the executive leadership team, then progressively moved into broader editorial responsibilities. He was appointed Editorial Director and later became Chief Executive Officer of Paris Première, a role he held from 2012 to 2017. In that position, he oversaw the channel’s editorial direction and helped guide its positioning in a fast-changing competitive environment shaped by shifting viewing habits and the growing demand for differentiated content. From 2018, he served as Deputy Managing Director in charge of programming for M6’s news magazines and external flows, before expanding his scope in 2019 to include M6, W9 and 6ter. In that capacity, he played a key role in core broadcast operations, working at the intersection of content strategy, scheduling, and channel performance. His expertise spans programming strategy, content curation, editorial coordination, and the adaptation of television offerings to audience expectations. Curiel later joined France Inter as Director of Content, reinforcing his profile as an experienced senior executive in audiovisual content creation, organization, and value creation. In the context of Métropole Télévision, he is best known as an editorial and programming leader who held several pivotal positions and contributed to the structuring and evolution of the group’s channel portfolio.
