About HELMAN LE PAS DE SECHEVAL

Helman le Pas de Sécheval is one of Veolia’s key senior executives, serving as the company’s General Secretary and Secretary of the Board of Directors. As a member of the Executive Committee and the Management Committee, he plays a central role in governance, legal oversight, institutional affairs, and the coordination of cross-functional priorities across the group. Since April 2023, he has also been overseeing Italy, which highlights the broad operational scope of his responsibilities within Veolia. Born in 1966, he graduated from the École normale supérieure, holds a PhD in Physical Sciences, and is an engineering graduate of the École des Mines. This strong scientific background gave him a rigorous analytical approach that later proved valuable in finance, regulation, and corporate governance. He began his career in 1991 at Banexi as a project manager in financial engineering. From 1993 to 1997, he served as deputy inspector-general of the underground quarries of Paris, before joining the French securities regulator, the Commission des opérations de bourse, where he became head of the Corporate Finance Department in 1998. He then moved to Groupama, where he was Group Chief Financial Officer from 2001 to 2009 and CEO of Groupama Centre-Atlantique from 2010 to 2011. These roles gave him substantial experience in financial leadership, risk management, and the management of complex organizations. In September 2012, he joined Veolia as General Secretary. Beyond Veolia, he has been a member of the college of the Autorité des marchés financiers since February 2015 and a board member of the French Institute of Directors since May 2018. His career combines regulatory expertise, strategic leadership, public-sector experience, and corporate governance know-how, making him an important figure in Veolia’s leadership and French listed-company governance.
